Donny has graciously lent me his copy of this book.

A few chapters in and I'm already laughing my ass off.

(On the inside. I don't laugh my ass off by myself.)

The summary on the back:

"My name is Tucker Max, and I am an asshole. I get excessively drunk at

inappropriate times, disregard social norms, indulge every whim, ignore

the consequences of my actions, mock idiots and posers, sleep with more

women than is safe or reasonable, and just generally act like a raging

dickhead. But, I do contribute to humanity in one very important way:

I share my adventures with the world."

A few parts that made me internally LMAO:

"9:42: Hot girl #2 is into me. She begins telling me a story about how

she got pulled over once for a DUI, and had to blow into something like

this, and the cop let her off. She tells me that she always wanted to be

a cop, but couldn't pass the entrance exam to the police academy, even

though she took it twice. I tell her she must be really smart. She stops

paying attention to me. Hot girl #2 is apparently smart enough to detect

thinly veiled sarcasm."

"After a post-shot round of beers, the mechanical bull started up. Hate not

only signed himself up, but continuously yelled across the bat at the fat

redneck with the smudged glasses until he came over and signed up also.

El Bingeroso slammed a ten dollar bill on the bar, and called the redneck

out.

El Bing "Hey FATASS, ten bucks says my friend rides longer than you."

Redneck "Screw you, northern bitch. I'll fucking outride your mom."

"Slingblade decides that his food is taking too long and that he can do

better than the current line cook, so he leaves the table and goes into

the kitchen. There is no one in there, so he messes with the griddle,

flipping knobs and switches until it turns on. The female cook comes

around the corner, she sees him, stops and stares at him in

astonishment for a few seconds as he pours some pancake mix on

the griddle. He sees her, and she questioningly shrugs her shoulders

at him, to which he replies:

"I'm hungry. I'm gonna make me some flapjacks."

She didn't think it was funny, and we had to leave out second

restaurant of the night. "

A Walk with Yoshi

It was 10 PM.

I wanted to take my dog, Yoshi, on a walk.

Little did I know, there was a fright in store.

Meet Yoshi.

He's vicious, but he can't protect me from everything.

Maybe serial killers and rapists, but in situations like these,

he just doesn't cut it.

I had to walk on the road at this point, because

the sidewalk around here is a scary place.

I live by a bunch of dirt and some mountains,

basically the edge of the city.

I met a couple of friends.

When I walk, I step on as many cockroaches as I can.

I'm not a bad person.

I mean, there are just so many of them.

They come back to life anyway.

I hate those big flying ones though.

Where the fuck did they come from anyways?

Since when do cockroaches fly?

Here's another big guy.

He looks badass, like the leader of a little cockroach gang.

I named him Marshall.

But Marshall and his friend were nothing compared to the

beast I ran into later.

Being on the phone with Charm, she heard my screams of terror.

I'm a severe arachnophobe.

This photograph gives me goosebumps.

I just got done with the first chapter, which was about Yvonne Chevallier who murdered her war-hero husband. He was having an affair, so she bought a gun and threatened to commit suicide. He taunted her, so she shot him 4 times. She went downstairs and the maid asked what was happening, but she said, "Nothing." Then she went back upstairs and shot him another time, which she claims was on accident.

She called a police commander, and was accused of murder. The woman her husband was having an affair with, named Jeanne Perreau, said she was not ashamed. The jury declared her not guilty of all charges after 45 minutes of discussion. She resumed her normal life, but was shadowed by guilt. She flew to a penal colony in New Guinea to work out her penitence among convicts.

Oh yeah, and I really liked this line in the introduction.

"Here is society caught at a disadvantage, with its hair in curlers, still in its bathrobe at eleven o' clock in the morning."

WaffleS Cafe

If you happen to know my meal schedule, you'll already be aware that I'm basically a regular at WaffleS Cafe. It's at 5165 S. Fort Apache, by Tropicana. They're amazing. There are so many different waffle combinations you can have. And a waffle pizza. And a waffle sandwich.

If you like waffles, I definitely recommend breakfast here.

Since I'm oh so very adventurous, I'm gonna try and have as much as I can on that menu.

Prologue Draft

I was writing a story, and to make it short and sweet, it's about a girl who murders her best friend and gets away with it.

Talking to my best friend 'Nark,' yesterday, I got some inspiration for what I'm gonna do with the story.

Finally, I'll be able to get writing again, and I'll finally have something to give Miss Rachiell, my favorite teacher from 5th grade that I still keep in touch with. I still owe her stories.

Prologue

You know that guilt you feel after you cheat on a test? Or lie to your parents? That never happens to me. Nope. I practically don't even have a conscience. It was an ordinary day. I went to school, ate my meals, and did my homework. There was one thing different about this day. On this day, I took my parents' automatic from under their mattress, brought it next door, and shot my best friend. I stared at Carson's dead body, proud of my work. You know that guilt you're supposed to feel after you take someone's life? I didn't feel it then, and I still don't feel it. Not one drop of it.

One second is all it took, and he was gone.

Is he looking down on me? No.

Is he in a new body? No.

Is he going to haunt me? No.

He's gone.

Goodbye math tests, lectures, untied shoes, pimples, bad hair days, tight shoes, paper cuts, and scratched CDs.

Goodbye Carson.

I did you a favor.

Double Tomato Bruschetta and a Grilled Cheese and Veggie Sandwich

Charm and I decided to be homemakers for a day.

Our meals actually turned out pretty decent.

The appetizer: Double Tomato Bruschetta.

Ingredients

1 French baguette

6 roma tomatoes, seeded and chopped

1/2 cup sun-dried tomato packed in oil

3 cloves minced garlic

3 tablespoons olive oil, divided

2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar

1/4 cup fresh basil, stems removed and finely chopped

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper

2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

Directions

1) Preheat the oven on broiler setting

2) In a large mixing bowl, combine the roma tomatoes, sundried-tomatoes, garlic, olive oil, vinegar, basil, salt, and pepper.

3) Allow the mixture to sit for 10 minutes.

4) Cut the baguette into 3/4 inch slices.

5) On a baking sheet, arrange the baguette slices in a single layer.

6) Broil for 1 to 2 minutes, until slightly brown.

7) Divide the tomato mixture evenly over the baguette slices.

8) Top the slices with mozzarella cheese.

9) Broil for 5 minutes, or until the cheese is melted.

The meal: Grilled Cheese and Veggie Sandwich

Ingredients

1 1/2 cups coleslaw mix

1/2 cup bean sprouts

8 large slices (3/4 inch thick) sourdough bread

3 tablespoons margarine, softened

3 tablespoons honey mustard

6 ounces Havarti cheese

Directions

1) In a medium bowl, toss together the coleslaw mix and bean sprouts.

2) Spread one side of each bread slice with margarine. Spread opposite side of 4 slices with honey mustard. Layer the honey mustard side of the 4 bread slices with the coleslaw mixture and cheese. Top with 4 remaining bread slices, margarine side out.

3) In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the sandwiches about 2 minutes on each side, until the cheese has melted and the bread is golden brown.
